This Father's Day, show dad some love

Thu, Jun 14, 2018
frozen blueberries

Though Father’s Day is annual, we’ll be the first to tell you that there are ways to show Dad that he’s appreciated every day of the year.

While cooking a meal might evoke more thoughts of Mother’s Day than Father’s day, it still goes a long way in showing him just how much you appreciate him. Whether you do it yourself, with siblings, or make Mom a co-conspirator, a home cooked meal is just the thing to bring the whole family together in honour of Dad.

Our recommendation: combine blueberries with something grill-friendly that feels like summer...like these black bean veggie burgers with blueberries. This is one of our summer favourites and “go-to’s” for family dinners. We love the simple family tradition of eating outside and this sure is one to create some fond memories. Veggie burgers not your preference? We have you covered. Try a lamb or beef recipes from our list of entrées.

From everyone at the BC Blueberry Council, we wish all the dads out there a Happy Father’s Day, and hope that everyone gets to spend a wonderful day with their family and loved ones!
